Percy Jackson

Approximately 20 Delegates - Single Delegate

Welcome to the Percy Jackson Crisis Committee for ILMUNC XLI! Stepping into the shoes of demigods, gods, and mythical creatures delegates will navigate the high-stakes world of Greek mythology. The gods of Olympus face unprecedented challenges—ancient prophecies, monster uprisings, and brewing conflicts between deities threaten the balance of the mortal and immortal worlds. Each delegate, representing a key figure from the Percy Jackson universe, must form alliances, outwit enemies, and resolve unexpected crises that could change the fate of both gods and humans.

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to ILMUNC XLI! My name is Alana Yang, and I am excited to be one of your chairs this year. As a huge Percy Jackson fan since elementary school, I am thrilled to be staffing this committee and to see all the innovative things you all accomplish in the Percy Jackson universe.

First, a little bit about me: I’m a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, studying History with minors in Sociology and Legal Studies & History. At Penn, I am a member of Intercol, which is our competitive Model UN team. I also volunteer and chair for Penn-affiliated Model UN conferences, most recently on the Joint Crisis Committee (JCC) for our college conference, UPMUNC. Outside of Model UN, I am heavily active in the history department at Penn through the Penn Historical Review and History Undergraduate Advisory Board, and involved in the transfer community on campus. I’m originally from Scarsdale, NY, just 30 minutes outside of New York City, and an avid believer that Westchester is not considered “upstate New York.”

As someone who had very little Model UN experience before college, but did a lot of high school debate, I love seeing the invigorating debates that delegates have over committee issues, even if they are about “trivial” matters like Percy Jackson. I’m incredibly excited to see your creative crisis notes and arcs and the collaboration you will partake in with your fellow delegates during our time together. Alongside my fellow chair and back room staff, we hope to provide you with a rewarding Model UN experience where you can learn and compete while still enjoying your time!

Whether it’s your first or twentieth conference, I sincerely hope that ILMUNC proves to be an incredible experience. I know conferences can be stressful, but I hope that after our four days together, you will have fond memories to take back home. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone else staffing the committee. See you all in January!

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the Percy Jackson Crisis Committee of ILMUNC XLI! My name is Leanne Wattar, and I am looking forward to chairing this committee alongside Alana as you navigate the challenges posed by power hungry gods and vicious monsters.

In this committee, you will venture into the realm of foes, prophecies, and heroes who will rise to confront daunting trials and tribulations. From Camp Half-Blood to Mount Olympus, you will represent various factions to complete quests, overcome obstacles, and seek resolutions that uphold justice, prosperity, or vengeance. I’m excited to guide you through this odyssey of diplomacy and intrigue, where you will forge alliances, confront enemies both old and new, and broker deals that will inspire myths for generations to come.

As a senior at Penn, I am studying Political Science with a focus on American Politics. Although I left competing in MUN in high school, this will be my fifth, and likely last, time chairing a crisis committee. Outside of ILMUNC, I am involved with UPMUNC, the Penn Band, The Daily Pennsylvanian, the Penn Political Union, and the Student Activities Council (SAC) and Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC) within Penn Student Government. I love reading, exploring new sweet treat spots, and travelling as much as possible!

Alana and I are looking forward to working with you in the Percy Jackson Crisis Committee. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions as you prepare.

Dear Delegates,

I am excited to welcome you to the Percy Jackson Crisis Committee of ILMUNC! My name is Paul, and as the CD I look forward to helping create a fun, exciting, and memorable experience in our committee.

Our committee will be taking place within the Percy Jackson Universe. We will be interacting with Greek mythology and doing our best to succeed in our quest. It will be my role to help develop the quest as it unfolds while also helping you develop your own story within the quest. I highly recommend you get as creative as possible, as this is not just a committee, but a story we will be shaping together. As your dungeon master It will be my pleasure to make our committee, and everyone in it, succeed.

A little bit about me, I am a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences studying International relations and East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I’m from Bratislava, Slovakia. This will be my first conference that I have helped to plan with ILMUNC and hope that you all have an enriching and valuable experience! Outside of ILMUNC, I help to tutor students in West Philly schools and am involved in Greek life on campus. I love immersing myself in sports, history, and  philosophy.

We are all looking forward to working with you in our committee. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions regarding the topic, rules, or anything else.
